You can recycle just about everything! You can recycle phonebooks, old computer monitors, milk cartons, aluminum cans (like soup cans), juice bottles, wine bottles, beer cans, pop cans and bottles.

Grass-cycling

You can get free fertilizer by 'grass-cycling', which is leaving the grass clippings on you lawn after mowing. In a matter of weeks, the grass will decompose and act primarily as a fertilizer supplement and mulch. Grass-cycling reduces the use of plastic bags. When you mow your lawn it creates up to 200 to 500 pounds (90 to 225 kg) of grass clippings a year, so leaving your grass clippings on the lawn can be very good for the environment!

Tips:  Turn off the lights when you don't need them, turn off your computer and TV when you aren't using them. Doing this can save energy and money!

Composting

• Only certain things can be composted; most natural products can be composted
• Eggshells, fruit peels and rinds can all be composted
• Saw dust and wood chips can be as well
• Seaweeds and coffee grounds are other things that can be composted
• Red Wiggler worms kept in a container with food waste and moistened bedding will eventually turn it into rich soil
